How to Take Clear Iris Photos for Iridology Assessment (with Your Phone or Camera)
This short video tutorial explains exactly how to capture clear iris photos for iridology using your smartphone or camera. You'll learn ideal distance, focus techniques, and lighting setup to ensure your photos are sharp and readable.
□ Guidelines for Taking Iris Photos
- Hold the camera about 6 inches away from the face—close enough to the eye to stay in focus without blurring.
- If using a smartphone, tap the screen to ensure the camera focuses directly on the eye.
- Photograph one eye at a time.
- Do not use digital zoom – we’ll zoom and crop your photo later if needed.
- Use a pen light angled slightly (not directly from the front or side) to reveal depth in the iris.
- Brown eyes: Take photos in a dim room with minimal outside light to reduce glare. A soft overhead light often works well.
- Blue eyes: Follow the same approach, but you may need more light. Try using your camera's flash or combining flash with a pen light for best results.
- The final photo should show clear iris fibers and markings—no blur, no reflection, no haze.
